Successful TVET programs are often leveraged through effective partnerships.  Creating and maintaining effective partnerships takes forethought, energy, and sustained effort.  This year's conference theme, Promoting and Sustaining Effective TVET Partnerships explored synergistic partnerships.

In addition, the 2014 IVETA annual conference featured a half-day joint session with the Association for Career-Technical Education Research (ACTER).  The theme for the ACTER conference is "CTE in a Changing Environment: Scholarship and Engagement in Secondary and Higher Education."   The theme of the joint session will be "Effective Partnerships between Secondary and Post-secondary TVET Institutions."
